Papercuts Exhibition

This exhibition hopes to move viewers emotionally and challenge their opinion on certain subject matters and, at the same time, entertain on a very visual level of the craftsmanship of the artwork.

Papercutting in the early 1900s is an artform loosely used in the Philippines as a pastry paper wrapper design. Its development and transition as artform is slow since in the opinion of the artist, people's perception of papercutting is merely a hobby or a past time.  Thus, its themes and concepts were confined to either dainty or western-country inspired images. Noli Me Tangere - a new musical!

Redland Events and McFadden Music, in association with bAKEHOUSE Theatre Co are pleased to announce the production of a new musical based on Noli Me Tangere (Touch Me Not), a novel of Philippines' national hero, Dr Jose Rizal. It is a love story - for a woman and a homeland. The musical is based on book and lyrics by Peter Fleming, music and lyrics by Allan McFadden, directed by Aarni Neeme.

A staged reading was held on Saturday, 12 March at Kings Cross Theatre, 2nd Level, Kings Cross Hotel. Watch this space for updates.
